(SEATTLE, WA, 10/15/12) --- On Monday, October 15, the Washington state chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-WA) will hold a news conference in Seattle to call for a more thorough investigation of an emailed bomb threat sent last month to a mosque in the Seattle area. CAIR-WA says the alleged perpetrator was identified immediately because the threat was sent from a personal email account, but no arrest has been made in the case. There was reportedly no search conducted of the alleged perpetrator's home to look for evidence of violent intent or capability. CAIR-WA has reported the incident to the FBI. Members of the local Muslim community report to CAIR-WA that they are terrified for their safety. Many community members say they have stopped going to the threatened mosque and that children no longer play outside on the playground. Because of fear, no mosque official has been is willing to speak publicly, but they have asked CAIR-WA to highlight the case.
