If you respect courage, then you need to meet 15-year-old Palestinian-American Florida high school student Tariq Abu Khdeir and his family. We will present Tariq with an award for courage at CAIR’s 20th anniversary banquet on Saturday, September 27 in Arlington, Va. We want you to join us, and Tariq, there. Earlier this year, Tariq was brutally beaten and then detained by Israeli security forces. His beating was captured on video and led to international condemnations of Israeli brutality. CAIR was instrumental in seeking Tariq’s release and return to the United States. Tariq’s courage under tremendous adversity drew worldwide media attention and reminded us all about the power of a determined voice. He called attention to the plight of numerous Palestinians who endure similar treatment, but whose voices are never heard. Buy your tickets here before they are all sold out. There are only a few days left. No tickets will be sold at the door, so register TODAY to reserve your place. With the theme “Rooted in Faith, Growing Through Service,” the September 27th evening banquet will also feature civil rights leader and MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton, as well as CAIR National Board Chair Roula Allouch and Reps. James Moran (D-VA) and Keith Ellison (D-MN). Register online TODAY. Registration for the banquet is available at: http://www.cair.com/banquet Banquet tables for a family, business, mosque, or other group, can be reserved by calling 202-742-6454 or by emailing events@cair.com.
