
CAIR: Virginia Mosque Vandalized for 2nd Time in One Week, Stepped-Up Security for Eid Prayers Urged (WASHINGTON, D.C., 7/17/15) - An official with the Manassas Muslim Association in Manassas, Va., reported to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, that the mosque’s air conditioning unit was vandalized again tonight - the second such vandalism this week. On Tuesday, CAIR called on law enforcement authorities to investigate a possible bias motive for the first act of vandalism. CAIR is urging mosques and Muslim community leaders nationwide to step up security for Friday’s end-of Ramadan Eid ul-Fitr (EED-al-FITTER) (“feast of fast breaking”) holiday prayers by requesting a local law enforcement presence in the vicinity of any public prayers or holiday gatherings.
