RT America - A federal district court in San Francisco is hearing the case of Rahinah Ibrahim, a Malaysian PhD student at Stanford University, who has been fighting the federal government to get her name off the terror watch list for eight years. The government argues that revealing the evidence that placed Ibrahim on the list would jeopardize national security. Over 875,000 names were listed in the Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment database in 2012, but the list contains multiple aliases and it flags people with similar or the same names as people on the list, creating false positives. RT's Meghan Lopez discusses the effectiveness of TIDE and the overall terror watch list run by the FBI with Munia Jabbar, a civil-rights attorney with the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
