Yesterday, USCMO released video for the hill day event featuring highlights from the last several years. Video: 4th Annual National Muslim Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill in D.C. All representatives for national, state and local Muslim organizations and communities are encouraged to register for this two-day advocacy event. Muslim delegates and activists will discuss the most pressing issues affecting Muslim Americans in today's climate with congressional offices. For those who would like additional advocacy techniques and a more in-depth rundown on the advocacy day's focused issues, there will be a series of online training seminars for those registered before the day itself. Last year's event was attended by more than 450 delegates from 30 states who met with nearly 230 congressional offices. Muslim delegates participating in last year's advocacy day event met with a third of the House of Representatives and almost half of the Senate. Following a highly successful day in 2017, CAIR and USCMO are working to make this year's event bigger, better and louder. Change starts with a voice, and this day will be the platform. For more information about the event or how your Muslim organization or community can participate, please contact the USCMO at: advocacy@uscmo.org. CAIR is the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization. CAIR’s mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims. USCMO is a coalition of a number of leading national and local Muslim organizations that seeks to promote effective communication and coordination between all American Muslim organizations and sponsor Muslim civic engagement for the good of the nation.
